how PuMP® has
helped develop performance measures and KPIs
Here are some examples of the different ways I have
brought PuMP® into various organisations:
- Coaching a functional team through the development of performance
measures that align their department with their organisation's strategic
direction, bringing those measures to life, and using them to improve
customer relationships and internal efficiency.
- Developing measures for the improvement objectives and strategies of
an organisation's procurement process, using the PuMP® framework for
defining performance measures as a tool for bringing the measures to
life.
- Using the PuMP® methodology to help a government agency cascade
their strategic goals throughout their organisation through a hierarchy
of performance measures.
- Facilitating project managers to apply a methodology for measuring
the success of organisational efficiency improvement projects in a
utilities organisation.
- Facilitating teams through the development of "process measures" to
assist a freight business to understand the true lead indicators of the
performance of its operations.
- Designing a corporate wide performance
measurement system for a utilities organisation, including the selection
and definition of measures, collection of the data, analysis and
presentation of measures using a custom designed decision support
application and integration of performance measures into decision
making.
- Training and facilitating the application of the PuMP® program in an
emergency services organisation to increase the capability of a team to
measure and manage the performance of their business processes.
- Evaluating an emergency services organisation’s performance
measurement system using a thorough and robust tool designed around the
PuMP® framework, to identify the highest priorities for improvement.
- Training and mentoring a team of internal measurement consultants in
a transport organisation, to equip them with the capability to
facilitate teams throughout the business in applying the PuMP® approach
for performance measurement.
- Coaching managers and staff in a not-for-profit organisation through
a "just in time" approach to applying PuMP® concepts to their own
individual measurement requirements, with a view to gradually populating
the organisation's strategic performance scorecard.
- Redesigning performance reports used by a Senior Executive team to
have consistent structure, appropriate content, easy to use layout and
visual formatting that highlights priorities.
